o u g h t s. . . . . . . Merry Christmas! I read in a Henry Blackaby daily devotional
concerning ‘THE RACE’. That is the race of our personal Faith. The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:7, ‘I
have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith’. In Henry Blackaby’s devotional,
he writes, the success of a race is not only how well you begin, but also how well you end. Blackaby writes that the Apostle
Paul faced persecution, misunderstanding, betrayal, and death threats. His Christian life was anything but easy, yet he
persevered. I personally have to say that I have experienced a lot of sorrow this past year, with the loss of loved ones,
friends, and friends’ loss of their pets. I have shared their sorrow, and I, myself have been comforted by family
and dear friends. On the night of my mother’s passing God spoke to me and said, ‘I will bring your mother home
tonight’. As I stopped in my tracks, I told the Lord, “If this is you, Lord, take her in peace”. I
shared this conversation with my son about what the Lord had just told me and he was amazed. The next morning my wife
woke me to inform me my mother had passed. It was at that moment I shared with my wife what the Lord had spoken to me
the evening before. I wonder and ask why my God would take the time to inform me of His plans for my mother. I had
the privilege of leading my mother to the Lord and baptizing her, as I did with my father. It just goes to show how intimate
God wants a relationship with each one of us. As we close out the year of 2023 with
the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, let us renew our faith and personal relationship with our God. John 3:16-17 For
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting
life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. My prayers are of encouragement for you and your family. I pray that you will be rejoicing with gladness in your heart and thankfulness in your soul this coming new year.
To my family and friends - stay in the race and finish well!
Thank you so much
for your friendship, prayers, and financial support to this
