Psalm 31:3 Since you are my rock
and my fortress, for the sake of your name, lead and guide me..
Philippians 3:18 NLT
For I have told you often before, and I say it again with tears in my eyes, that there are many whose conduct
shows they are really enemies of the cross of Christ.
I
read in a devotional that the most dangerous enemies to the cause of Christ are not those who openly oppose the gospel, but
those who pretend to be friends of Christ, claim to identify with Him, and in some cases, reach positions of spiritual leadership.
The author asks his readers if we want to know how to acquire the ability to discern the enemies of the cross. Know
the WORD! If we know the word we are not so open to being mislead. Amen! The apostles of old knew Christ’s
teaching and in that knowledge, they did not conform to the world in their outreach to the masses. When the cultural
behavior or understandings were not in line with the truth, that is, God’s Word, God’s way; they told them so.
As far as I know, the apostles did not meet them half way. As far as I know they did not say to the culture, you can
have it both ways. They did not say you can continue in your practices and do a little of God’s way and it will
be OK. No – as a matter of fact, all but John died for being uncompromising. A
young man recently asked me, ‘Ponch, What kind of Christian are you?’ What a great question! I replied
that I was not an illiterate one. That I had sought God and God showed up! Like the apostle Paul I was saved later
in life -Jesus took me off my high horse and the fall I experienced from who I thought I was and what God wanted me to be
was a graceful and merciful fall. Like Paul, I went away to be with Jesus for a few years during an intense time of
being discipled, studying and prayer. The revelations of God’s truths are so overwhelming. The Lord revealed
to me how much people will defend their religion, their denomination, their way of doing things rather
than defending God’s Word and His way of doing things. I explained to this young man about Hosea
4:6 and that neither I nor my family was going to be destroyed from lack of knowledge. As I mature in understanding
on what God’s word says, I have found favor in His eyes. I asked the young man what kind of Christian he was.
There are so many mixed signals out there by Christians. Everyone has an opinion, if your source
for truth is not Truth itself, then one’s spiritual walk will be off. I have found that the bible is the
only source for the Truth. When one reads 1 Timothy Chapters 1&4 and 2 Timothy Chapters 3&4, we realize
that we are living in some interesting days so we should be grounded in God’s Word. When God saved me,
I was born again, my spiritual understanding kicked in, thus my loyalty is to God and to my King, Lord Jesus. In meeting
with people daily, I try to plant seeds or water the seeds that have been planted by others. As I walk along the road
with them, I point them to Jesus and the word of God, which is the source of truth! Recently I was greeted by a young
lady and she shared how she was reading the bible I had given her. I asked what she was reading and she replied- John
15. I shared that I love that chapter, and she smiled and responded that she did to. What a blessing!
As we move into the summer months, I pray the Lord will bless you in all you do. Thank you for your continued prayer and support of this ministry. Your
brother in Christ Jesus, . .
Ponch
